Shamwari to Shamwari

A taste of the stage

The final stage is a 94km loop from Shamwari Burn Camp, with a panhandle-shaped route. In isolation, the stage difficulty level might look intermediate by Gravel Burn standards, but with six days in the legs, on Pure South African Gravel, it moves up a notch. The Toyota Power Climb up Founder's Gate comes early, and after the long drag to the summit of Assegaai, the highest point of the day at 640m, most of the work is done. From there it’s generally downhill through Big Five country, back along the handle section of the panhandle to the finish at Burn Camp.
